Fresh cranberries, apple, and pear get finely chopped and tossed with honey, ginger, and grapefruit zest for a relish that's tart, sweet, and full of texture. A holiday classic worth making any time cranberries are in season.

Ingredients

  • 1 12 oz package of cranberries, chopped very fine
  • 2 apples, chopped well
  • 2 pears, chopped well
  • 6 Tbsp honey
  • 2 tsp minced fresh ginger
  • Zest from 1 grapefruit

Method

  1. Use a food processor (S blade) to chop the cranberries, apples, and pears separately, processing as long as necessary to achieve the coarseness or saucy texture you like.
  2. Mix all other ingredients together and stir well.

Cranberries also come in smaller 7 oz packs — this recipe was written so that you could easily cut it in half.

Whole-food meal with leafy greens, beans, grains, berries, avocado, seeds, and vegetables being prepared in a sunlit kitchen.
