Rhonda and I will often course grind some almonds or sunflower seeds or pecans, and then sprinkle them on our salads, not only for flavor, but they are also one of the best raw vegan protein sources. Well Yvonne sent in a recipe that sounded better than what Rhonda and I have been doing – she grinds a number of different seeds and nuts together. Following is her raw recipe, using equal amount of each:

Ingredients

  • Almonds
  • Sunflower Seeds
  • Pumpkin Seeds
  • Flax Seeds

Method

  1. First finely grind Flax Seeds, then add Almonds, Sunflower Seeds and Pumpkin Seeds, and course grind. Can be sprinkled on salads or in soups. Other nuts, such as Pecans, Walnuts, etc., could also be added to the mix. Best to grind fresh for each meal, but if any are left over, place in airtight container and refrigerate. ENJOY!

*ORGANIC INGREDIENTS ARE ALWAYS RECOMMENDED.

Whole-food meal with leafy greens, beans, grains, berries, avocado, seeds, and vegetables being prepared in a sunlit kitchen.
