Dr. Bredesen, of the Buck Institute, UCLA and author of The End of Alzheimer’s, identified about 36 different metabolic factors that contribute to mild cognitive impairment, leading to Alzheimer’s disease. Prevention and reversal of cognitive impairment requires dealing with all of the factors that are not normal/optimal in a person.

The team of researchers led by Dr. Dale Bredesen has found 3 basic types of Alzheimer’s Disease:

Type 1 Alzheimer’s disease is characterized by low-grade inflammation throughout the body. As we burn hydrogen to make energy, sparks fly out (free-radicals) and need quenched so they don’t damage us. Type 2 Alzheimer’s disease is more like a wasting away disease.
