"My husband and I prepare a very large salad over the weekend, [then] store it in Ziploc bags to pull from all week. That way it's already prepared and all I have to do is reach in the bag at suppertime. Very convenient for someone who detests preparing salads daily. With two of us washing, spinning leaves, and chopping with the food processor over the weekend, we finish preparing enough salad for the whole week in about 30 minutes of time.
Couscous is also extremely fast and easy to prepare. Takes only about 5 minutes of cooking time, then season with your favorite herbs. The couscous can be added directly to your salad or served separately. If served separately, the following chopped raw vegetables can be mixed in with the cooked seasoned couscous: tomatoes, small broccoli flowerets, grated carrots, thinly sliced zucchini, or just about any chopped vegetable.
