Transform raw dessert recipes with Not Your Mother's Chocolate Sauce! It's a healthier and more sustainable alternative to traditional chocolate sauce - satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt! Unlike cocoa powder, carob powder is naturally sweet and contains no caffeine, making it part of the God made foods list. Plus, carob trees are more sustainable to grow than cocoa trees, making carob powder a more eco-friendly choice. Let's get started!
Ingredients
1 cup Raisins (soaked overnight in 1 1/2 cup Distilled Water)8 large Dates
3/4 cup Raw Carob Powder
1/2 cup Agave Nectar
2 teaspoons pure Vanilla (or 1 vanilla bean ground)
2 tablespoons Flaxseed Oil
Directions
Drain raisins, and save soak water. Place soaked raisins and dates in a blender or food processor. Add remaining ingredients and process until smooth. Add enough reserved soak water from raisins to make a smooth, creamy, and pourable consistency. Ingredients can be cut in half for less syrup. Should keep at least a week in the refrigerator.
IDEAS: This syrup could be added to raw Almond Milk to make "chocolate" milk, and served warm or cold. This syrup can also be turned into "chocolate pudding" by adding pine nuts and more soak water to blender or food processor till of pudding consistency. ENJOY
