How Your Body Works
Most health advice starts with what to do. This is the other half: what each part of you is actually doing, what it needs, and what to notice when it is struggling.
Fifteen systems, one at a time. Each one has two pieces — how it works, and what to eat for it. Food first, no alarm, and written to be read by someone who has never been taught any of it.
Holding you up
- Bones and muscles
A bone scan comes back with a number that sounds like a verdict. It is closer to a reading off a system that is rebuilding itself...
- Connective tissue
The shoulder that has been grumbling since February. Stiffness that takes twenty minutes to walk off. Skin that does not spring back the way it did....
Why food first
Every piece in this library arrives at the same place. The body repairs itself when it is given what it needs, and what it needs is material it can use.
"And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat." (Genesis 1:29)
Fifteen systems, one at a time, is what that looks like in a body.
