My husband suffered from chronic headaches that developed into chronic migraines. We've been married for 17 years, and for as long as I can remember, the headaches have always been there. There were days he would call me from work, asking that I drive him home. When I would arrive to pick him up, I would find him shaky, sweaty, and nauseous.
My husband is no small man, he's a 6-foot, physically fit military man, 195 pound muscle man. In addition to the migraines, he also suffered from tachycardia (a rapid heartbeat). Sometimes I'd wake up in the middle of the night and I could hear his heart beating loudly and fast. He said it sometimes felt like his heart would beat right out of his chest. For his migraines and high blood pressure, the doctors prescribed medication of 185 mg daily. The doctor also told him that he could never go off his high blood pressure medicine, and that if he did, he would have an aneurysm and die.
For me, my struggle was with weight, abnormal bleeding, and facial hair growth. At 40 I was going into menopause. I was at my wit's end and demanded a hysterectomy after twenty years of ups and downs. The doctor said he would rather try 100 medicines than give me a hysterectomy, but I decided not to indulge in the hormone therapies, as I felt they would just make my physical life worse than it already was.
Then my husband retired from the Air Force after 23 years of military service. We sold almost everything, bought a fifth-wheel trailer, and began to travel. We were told that the headaches were probably stress related and that they'd go away once he retired. But they didn't go away, and I was beginning to feel responsible.
After several months on the road, we stopped to visit family in Florida. There, my husband caught the flu. I did too, only for me it was merciless. I was down for weeks and in pain, and nothing helped the pain except my tears and prayers. As I was healing from pinkeye, sore throat, fevers, earaches and chest pain from horrid coughing, my sister-in-law asked: 'Have you ever heard of the Hallelujah Diet?' My husband took her literature and we viewed the videos, The next day, with renewed hope and strength, I cleaned out our trailer of all SAD foods.
That was six months ago. Since making the diet change I have lost 30 pounds, and my facial hair grows at a significantly slower rate, while some spots don't even grow anymore. I have normal menstrual cycles now, and the hot flashes and sleepless nights are gone.
Since going on the Hallelujah Diet, my husband has lost 40 pounds; no longer has chronic headaches; no longer has those dreaded migraines; no longer has the rapid heartbeat; and is completely off his high blood pressure medicine without dying of an aneurysm!
Our two younger children are also on the diet with us. My little girl, who was chunky, has lost 15 pounds and is now growing as a healthy little girl should. Our skinny little boy of 8 years has gained height and weight and is even showing off his muscles. I have home-schooled the children for 4 years, and this is the first year our hyperactive son will sit still, listen, and do his work. As for my sister-in-law who told us about the Hallelujah Diet, she's not even on the diet!
This diet has been a God-send for all of us, a prayer answered, and a blessing to our family. I received an internship with DOD - U.S. Air Force. I have given my testimony to fellow co-workers and friends. Hopefully they will share their testimonies with you someday. Thank you for giving us the Word of God through food. In the name of Jesus, the impossible has become possible.
