Dear Rev. Malkmus, I was very encouraged to read Dr. Chesnut's testimony in last week's Health Tip. I plan to read his book. It would be wonderful if more medical doctors would listen to their patients and be willing to recommend healthy eating as an alternative to prescribing drugs.
Several months ago, I was diagnosed with Polymyalgia, a type of arthritis. She put me on prednisone. After learning of the side effects of this drug I asked her to take me off it. She told me 'no way', even after I told her I had started on The Hallelujah Diet. I am currently trying to wean myself off this drug. Oh how great it would be to have a doctor who understood nutrition.
So far, and in one month on my own, and without any encouragement from my doctor, my blood pressure has come down; I have lost weight, and have more energy than I have had in 20 years. My husband, who is also on the diet, has seen a drop in his blood sugars and blood pressure. I am praying about becoming a Health Minister SM. I have spent many years praying for those who are sick and would dearly love to see more people get well by following God's Health Plan. Thank you for your efforts!
