Green Smoothie

Green Smoothie

When we think of smoothies we usually think of fruit, but a very tasty and extremely nutritious smoothie can be made using raw good greens and walnuts. This smoothie is very high nutritionally, high in calcium and an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids. In last week's Health Tip #439, in the article titled "A Typical Day on The Hallelujah Diet," we said that a "Green Smoothie" could be consumed an hour or so after rising for a healthy raw vegan breakfast, if you were not trying to lose weight.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons Flax Seed (freshly ground)
  • OR (not both) 3 tablespoons B-Flax-D
  • 1/4 cup Walnuts (freshly ground)
  • 1 leaf of Kale
  • 1/2 cup baby Spinach
  • 1 small ripe Banana
  • 6 ounces Apple Juice (organic)
  • 3 ounces purified water

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed for 60 seconds.

Whole-food meal with leafy greens, beans, grains, berries, avocado, seeds, and vegetables being prepared in a sunlit kitchen.
