The Hallelujah Diet is NOT a “diet” per se — it's a “LIFESTYLE”!
A “diet” is something a person does for a given period of time, until they achieve a desired result, usually weight loss. After they have achieved that desired result, they revert to their previous eating habits — and when they do revert, they often see the health improvement they had achieved, disappear.
Sadly, I see too many people treat The Hallelujah Diet as such. They achieve the desired health benefits and then return to their old eating habits that had originally caused their physical problems.
And what happens when they return to their old eating habits?
The problems come back, often with greater intensity than before they made the diet change.
In last week’s Health Tip we shared that, in order to achieve the ultimate health God designed for our physical bodies (if true health is our goal), we must not only add healthy foods and supplements, along with daily exercise, but we must STOP placing into our bodies the things that caused those previous physical problems.
The Hallelujah Diet does both — this is exactly why it is feasible as a long-term LIFESTYLE rather than just a temporary diet!
First, and in most instances, it assists the body to remove almost all physical and even psychological problems, along with the desired weight loss. And because it is designed for the long term, it helps to maintain those achievements for the rest of a person’s life (as long as the person remains on it, that is).
Before we share a typical day on The Hallelujah Diet, let's clear up some misconceptions:
Misconception #1
The Hallelujah Diet is a diet that heals people. This is not true! No diet has the power of healing anyone of anything because only the body has the power to perform that task – the ability to heal. However, what diet can do (and does do if proper diet is implemented), is provide the body with the building materialsit so desperately needs in order to rebuild its immune system, the self healing mechanism God placed into each of our bodies. As the immune system rebuilds itself, the body now has the ability to do what it was designed by God to do – seek out the broken down areas of the body and heal them. There is not a doctor, drug, herb, supplement, radiation, or surgical procedure that can heal anyone of anything, either. When a person breaks a bone, the doctor can realign the bones, but it is only the body that has the ability of knitting those bones back together so they can heal in proper position. When a person cuts themselves, it is not the bandage or stitches that heal the break in the skin, but it is the body that knits the skin back together and makes the body whole again. It is always and only the body that does the healing! This is true of all healing that takes place anywhere within the body. How true is that verse in the Bible which states:“I will praise thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” (Psalm 139:14)And how true are the words of that poem by Alfred Joyce Killmer which concludes with the words:
Poems are made by fools like me, But only God can make a tree.Yes my friend, it is God who made the tree, and it is God who “formed man from the dust of the ground, breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and made man a living soul.” (Genesis 2:7) Likewise, it is God who placed within each of our bodies the ability to literally heal itself when provided the building materials needed to perform that task.
Misconception #2
The Hallelujah Diet is an expensive diet, difficult to prepare, and difficult to follow. This simply is not true! The Hallelujah Diet is not only simple and easy while providing incredible healing and healthy results, but it can take less time to prepare than most diets, costs less than most diets, requiring much less clean up time than most diets, while at the same time being extremely tasty and satisfying. Who could ask for anything more? Imagine no more greasy pots and pans to clean. No more hot kitchens in which meals are prepared. No more spattered grease to clean from the oven and stove top. No more smoked grease to clean from kitchen walls. Preparation time measured in minutes rather than hours. And the benefit of preparing Hallelujah Diet foods goes on and on.Misconception #3
The Hallelujah Diet is difficult to do and to follow! This simply is not true! The Hallelujah Diet is simple, but depending on the body's physical condition, sometimes a person requires more strictness than others in order to achieve the best healing results. There are two versions of The Hallelujah Diet - "Maintenance" and "Recovery". The maintenance version is not difficult to follow and is less strict than The Hallelujah Recovery Diet. The maintenance diet is for those who have no serious physical problems and want to maintain their good health by supplying the body with the nutrients it needs to maintain a strong immune system (so that serious physical problems do not develop). The maintenance diet will also help the body to clear up minor physical problems. The Hallelujah Recovery Diet is more strict and is primarily for those who are dealing with cancer or another potentially life-threatening problem. Because the problem is potentially life-threatening, it is imperative the body be provided as quickly as possible with the nutrients it needs in order to rapidly rebuild the immune system so that healing can take place.Misconception #4
Exercise is not important. The importance of exercise cannot be over-emphasized. In days gone by, a person would go to the hospital, be placed in bed, and remain in bed for extended periods of time. Not so today! They now realize that muscles atrophy without exercise, circulation slows, and the whole body starts breaking down. Whether a person is on The Hallelujah Diet (maintenance or recovery versions), daily, bodily movement plays an important and major role in restoring a body to a healthy state and then maintaining that healthy state. Now, with a few of the misconceptions out of the way...What A Day On The Hallelujah Diet Looks Like
The Hallelujah Diet is based on Genesis 1:29 and is comprised of 100% plant-sourced foods, the majority of which are consumed in their raw and uncooked form. The diet consists of approximately 85% raw and 15% cooked food, with most of the cooked food usually being consumed at the evening meal. Children are an exception to the 85/15 raw to cooked ratio. Because they are very active, children require more carbohydrates to support this activity. Therefore the ratio of raw food to cooked plant sourced foods for a child should be approximately 50% raw and 50% cooked.Breakfast
At breakfast, we literally "break the fast" the body has been in since the evening meal of the previous day. The number of hours the body has been on this fast varies by individual, but is usually around 12 hours. A high percentage of those fasting hours have been spent in sleep. During those sleeping hours the body has been in a cleansing and detoxifying mode, accumulating the previous day's toxins and preparing them for removal. The body is also in a state of repairing, rebuilding, recharging, and prepping for the new day’s tasks and activities. As we arise, the first thing the body usually wants to do is eliminate the toxins accumulated during the night's fast through urination and defecation. This cleansing and eliminating continues for a time after arising if not stopped by too soon placing into the body foods difficult to digest. If, soon after arising, a person consumes a meal of bacon and eggs, pancakes and sausage, cereal and milk, toast and coffee, grits and whatever, cleansing and eliminating slows or may even stop entirely while the body diverts its energy from cleansing and eliminating to digestion. Some will say that we need a big breakfast in order to obtain energy for the day, but because these items must go through the digestion process, no potential energy from them can be released for many hours. In fact, some of the denatured, "non-food" items in that list will take until almost noon to be digested. In essence, these items do not give quick energy but actually take away energy that now has to be used in digestion. In order to break the fast gently and not hinder cleansing and elimination, The Hallelujah Diet recommends that the first item we place into our body is a teaspoon of BarleyMax. BarleyMax provides the body with immediate nutrition and because it contains no fiber, requires no digestion, and thus gives the body almost instant energy. And because it requires no digestion, the cleansing and eliminating can continue. Our research reveals that BarleyMax is one of the most nutritionally dense whole foods available to us today. It is also the very first food Rhonda and I consume each and every morning almost immediately upon arising — here's why:- BarleyMax is certified organic!
- Because it is raw, it has high levels of enzyme activity
- Contains a wide variety of vitamins and minerals
- Is a rich source of antioxidants
- It promotes detoxification
- It leaves an alkaline ash in the body
- Looks and tastes fresh
- It is 100% fiber-less juice powder, nothing added
- It is not a whole-leaf product
- Has low temperature processing
- Grown and packaged in the USA
- Gluten-free
Green Smoothie
Following the BarleyMax comes a green smoothie, an incredibly power packed source of nutrients and enzymes. A green smoothie is best made with a powerful blender like a Vitamix or a Blendtec, both of which are capable of liquefying the ingredients. An inexpensive blender will blend the ingredients, but is incapable of liquefying the ingredients. (Liquefying releases considerably more nutrients than a normal blender.) Recipes for green smoothies are limitless, but all use varying types of fruits and greens — and they are delicious! Here is how Rhonda and I make our green smoothies each and every morning:- 8 oz distilled water
- frozen banana pieces
- frozen pineapple chunks
- 1/4 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 tsp Pharmax Finest Pure Fish Oil
- handful of spinach, kale, or collards
