How Affordable is Health Care, Really? Reading Prevention: The Only Solution To Our Health Problems 10 minutes Next Health Tips I Wish I Would Have Known When I was Younger
Isn’t it amazing that, with all the knowledge we have accumulated and all the monies we have spent on so-called health care (and continue to spend in ever greater amounts), the health of the American people continues to decline! This, in spite of all this knowledge being learned and money being spent! Is this failure to improve the health of the American people due to ignorance — or is there another reason? Think about it for a moment... Think about about the current state of health of the American people. Of all the industrialized nations of the world, the health of the American people ranks among the lowest. Is there not something wrong with this picture? Yet, we claim to have the greatest health care system in the world and spend more per capita on health care than any other industrialized nation in the world. Have you ever considered “WHY” — with all this knowledge and money being spent by government, insurance companies, and the people on health care — the American people not the healthiest people in the entire world? Could the answer possibly be that those who are assuming ever more responsibility for the health of the American people (mainly government), are not really interested in bettering the health of the American people... despite all claims to the contrary? The Affordable Care Act gives government almost complete control over the health of the American people. This act will force every American (in time), whether they want to participate in it or not, into a plan that has absolutely nothing to do with health, because there is little in the Act that promotes health or the prevention of sickness. Rather, the entire Act revolves around how physical problems, after they have already manifested, will be treated. In other words, it's a system that has already proven to be a complete and dismal failure. And for vivid proof that it is a failure, just for a moment take a look at the health of the people. Could the reason that the American people are not experiencing health be because legislators who are in charge of the health care industry are being influenced by special interest groups who profit from sickness? Think about it for a moment – if there were no sick people to treat, it sure would hurt the profits of those in the health care business. However... Are the American people beginning to realize that government controlled health care is not the best way to bring health to the American people? The following headline appearing on Foxmax.com would sure seem to indicate the beginning of such awareness. It was dated 28 November, 2012 and read: “Gallup: Majority say health coverage not government's responsibility” The article went on to say:

“A majority of Americans believe the government shouldn’t be responsible for making sure that all citizens have health insurance, according to a Gallup poll.”

Are the American people finally beginning to realize that government controlled health care is not the solution to the physical ills of the people? Are the people beginning to realize, like the Bible says that,

“The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.”

(1 Corinthians 3:19) Is there a “better way” than the world’s way of dealing with the physical ills of the American people? I say ABSOLUTELY, and I have been proclaiming that “better way” for over 23 years. That “better way” is what I would like to devote the rest of this Health Tip. Here at Hallelujah Acres we have found a way to nearly eliminate sickness. Millions of people across America and around the world have ALREADY adopted the Hallelujah Diet and as a result recovered from over 170 different physical problems, including terminal, metastasized cancers, and once these people recover from these ills they don’t get sick anymore. How can this be?

Prevention: The Only Answer

Concerning health care, we need a paradigm shift! Rather than focusing on sickness and constantly trying to come up with new ways to treat sickness, we need to focus on wellness, and how to stay well, along with the CAUSE of sickness. Once we can determine the cause of sickness, then it becomes a simple step of eliminating the cause, and once the cause of sickness has been eliminated, sickness will simply cease to exist and health will be the result. In 2009 when the Affordable Health Care Act was being debated before congress, Democrat Senator Tom Harkin had the following to say:

“Many of our legislators are in the pocket of some of the big businesses in the health care industry who stand to profit greatly in the treatment of disease, while other legislators see the Health Care Reform legislation as an opportunity to gain even more political power and ever more control over the people.

“. . . . The fact is, we do not have a health care system in the United States; we have a sick care system. If you’re sick, you get care, whether through insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP, community health centers, emergency rooms, or charity. The problem is that this is all about patching things up after people develop serious illnesses and chronic conditions. . . .

“Consider this: Right now, some 75 percent of health care costs are accounted for by heart disease, diabetes, prostate cancer, breast cancer, and obesity. What these five diseases have in common is that they are largely preventable and even reversible by changes in nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle.

Facts To Ponder

  1. Nearly 10% of Health Spending for Obesity

That was the head line for an Associated Press article dated July 28, 2009. Some of the highlights follow:

“Obesity’s not just dangerous, it’s expensive. New research shows medical spending averages $1,700 more a year for an obese person than for someone who’s normal weight. Overall, obesity-related health spending reaches $147 billion, double what it was nearly a decade ago . . . .

    “Two-thirds of Americans are either overweight or obese . . . . It’s not an individual problem but a societal problem – as the nation’s health bill illustrates . . . .

“On average, health bills for a normal-weight person are about $3,400 a year, but that rises to $4,870 for someone who’s obese. . . . obesity related conditions now account for 9.1 percent of all medical spending . . . .”

I WATCH MY CALORIC INTAKE, exercise daily, and maintain a slim waistline, so why should I have to pay for the health problem costs that arise from those who do no watch their caloric intake, fail to exercise their bodies, and as a consequence have a distended colon and enlarged waistline?” And let’s not stop with that thought...
  2. Smoking: Highest Source of Preventable Physical Problems

About 8.6 million people in the U.S. have at least one serious illness caused by smoking. The list of diseases caused by smoking includes:
    • chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema)
    • coronary heart disease
    • stroke
    • abdominal aortic aneurysm
    • acute myeloid leukemia
    • cataracts
    • pneumonia
    • periodontitis
    • bladder, esophageal, laryngeal, lung, oral, throat, cervical, kidney, stomach, and pancreatic cancers
Smoking by parents is also associated with a wide range of adverse effects in their children, including:
    • exacerbation of asthma
    • increased frequency of colds and ear infections
    • sudden infant death syndrome
Secondhand smoke causes more than an estimated 202,000 asthma episodes, 790,000 physician visits for buildup of fluid in the middle ear, and 430 sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) cases each year. I DON’T SMOKE, so why should I have to pay for the health care costs of a person who does smoke, or the health care costs of those affected by their smoke?
  3. Refined Sugar Consumption Causes Physical Problems

Refined sugar suppresses the immune system, a system God placed in our bodies so that it would resist germs, viruses, and bacteria. A person with a suppressed immune system will have little resistance to colds, the flu, pneumonia, and so much more. I DO NOT CONSUME REFINED SUGAR, so why should I have to pay for the health care costs of a person who does consume it, or the health care costs of the children whose parents feed their children – or allow their children – to consume products containing refined sugar? As a result of shunning refined sugar 39 years ago, I have been able to keep my immune system so strong and protective with a vegan diet, that I haven’t experienced the flu, sore throat, or even a cold one time in almost 40 years.
  4. Animal Foods: Primary Cause of Cancer, Heart Attacks, Strokes, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Heartburn, and More

Animal sourced foods such as animal flesh, dairy, cheese, and eggs are involved in 90% of all physical problems. By eliminating animal foods we are able to almost cancer-proof our bodies, reduce heart attack and stroke risk by 96 percent; practically eliminate any fear of type II diabetes or osteoporosis, and within only a few days after stopping its consumption, usually eliminate acid stomach problems and heartburn. I DO NOT CONSUME ANIMAL FLESH OR DAIRY and haven’t for almost 40 years, so why should I have to pay for the health care costs of a person who does consume these animal sourced foods? ... are you beginning to get the picture? ... are you starting to see health care in a new and different light?

Prevention Is The Only Solution To The Health Care Crisis!

Sickness and disease are preventable in almost every instance! So why do our elected leaders and the entire health care industry show practically no interest in preventing physical problems? The answer is simple: follow the money trail! There is no profit in wellness, my friend. If everyone in this country was on the Hallelujah Diet, there would be practically no medical problems for the disease care industry to treat and profit from or for the politicians to use to increase their control and power over the people. Sadly, the American public is looking in the wrong place to solve the health care crisis. Instead of looking to government they should be looking to prevention. For it is only through prevention that we can stop the continued increase in disease and the continued increase in the cost of disease care. Next week, the good Lord willing and if the creeks don’t rise too high we will return with another exciting issue of the Hallelujah Health Tip.
