How To Obtain And Maintain Wellness

Natural disasters and war on the news have many Americans getting back to basics. But what are the true "basics" of wellness?
In last week’s Health Tip, we went back to the beginning chapters of the Book of Genesis when God created everything on this earth in perfection, including his human creations, Adam and Eve. God then placed Adam and Eve in a Garden, where He not only told them to be “fruitful and multiply”, but also gave them a diet designed to sustain the physical bodies God had given them. As time passed, man wandered from God’s original intent concerning proper nourishment of the physical body and sickness began to manifest. In order to understand how to obtain and maintain wellness, we must first understand how we were made, how God designed our bodies to function, and what foods God created our bodies to be nourished with so that they could function properly — which are clearly articulated in Genesis 1:29:
“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb (vegetable) bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat (food).”
On this original Genesis 1:29 diet, man lived to an average of 912 years (average age of patriarchs at death) prior to the flood, without a single recorded instance of sickness. Following the flood however, two changes were made to man’s diet – meat was added and man began to cook his food. As a result of these two changes from Gods original intent, the lifespan of man started to rapidly decline. In ten generations, man's average age went from 912 years (on the Genesis 1:29 diet) to just 110 years (after the Genesis 9:3 diet change) — see Genesis 50:26. Since then we have moved ever further from God’s original diet and intent, by placing increasingly more toxic substances into our bodies. Sadly, the average 40-year-old person today has already developed some serious physical problems, while the average 4-year-old is already showing plaque buildup in their arteries. Our Generation – Sickest In History Our generation is the sickest generation in history and becoming increasingly sicker by the day. Indications of this sickness are the ever-increasing numbers of people being afflicted with heart attacks, strokes, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, and a host of other degenerative diseases, while the cost of health care skyrockets. But we must remember that heart attacks, strokes, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, etc., are not the problem in themselves, but merely symptoms of the problem. The problem is that we are putting into our bodies substances (poisons) God never designed these bodies to ever have to content with that are creating these problems! Then we further exacerbate the problem by trying to treat the resulting symptom with additional toxins (drugs), burning radiation, and needless surgeries, rather than dealing with the cause of the physical problem being experienced. Back To The Basics Any successful approach to health must deal with the cause of the problem rather than merely the symptom. But that is all the medical community has been doing for the past 100 plus years, dealing with symptoms, but look where that approach has gotten us health wise? If we want to reverse our physical problems we must get back to the basics – back to God and an understanding of how God made us, how God intended us to be nourished, and how God designed our bodies to function. Today, when a physical problem manifests, we have been programmed to believe that the problem is the result of some virus, germ, bacteria, or genetic weakness that has caused the physical breakdown. In most instances, nothing could be further from the truth! Such teachings are designed by those who profit from sickness to prevent us from seeking the true cause of disease – our own transgressions of God’s natural laws! The truth is that almost every physical problem we experience (other than accidents) is created by violating the natural laws God established at creation for our health and well being. When we get sick, rather than seeking the cause of our physical breakdown, we have been programmed to treat the symptom of the disease with a poisonous drug, burning radiation, or removal of the offending body part. But these modalities never heal; rather they complicate the problem and in many instances create new problems. If we desire to obtain and maintain wellness, we must understand that there are no cures. My dear friend reading these words, I don’t know how to say it strongly enough, there are NO CURES! There Are No Cures If there are no cures, how is it possible to restore health? There is only one way to properly restore our bodies to wellness. We must adopt a diet and lifestyle change that is in keeping with God’s instructions as found in the Bible. If we are going to restore the body to wellness, we must realize that drugs are incapable of curing anyone of anything! Chemotherapy does not cure! Radiation does not cure! Surgery does not cure! Vitamins do not cure! Herbs do not cure! The only way to restore the body to wellness is by first eliminating what caused the physical problem. Then after we have removed the cause of the problem, if we want to obtain wellness, the next step is to provide that body with the building materials (nutrients) the body needs so that it can rebuild its built-in healing mechanism, the immune system. God’s Genesis 1:29 diet is where you find the building materials necessary to accomplish this. Only then will the self-healing programmed into each one of us by God be able to perform the healing task God gave it power to carry out. Daily, someone by email, phone or in person shares with me the incredible improvements they have experienced in their own bodies after they have applied these self-healing principles. Self-Healing Is Built In Just as a cut on the surface of the skin will heal itself before our very eyes, the rest of our body is also designed to be self-healing. This self-healing will occur when we stop consuming the toxic substances that caused the problem, and we provide our body with the plant nutrients necessary to initiate internal healing, and start exercising. This ability to self-heal was programmed into our genetic coding by God at creation. Those who have made the change to a natural diet and lifestyle have experienced that God’s original plan of self-healing works better than all the prescription drugs, chemotherapy, and surgery modern medical science has to offer. The most important factors necessary for self-healing are fresh air, pure water, sufficient rest, internal and external cleanliness, sunshine, a positive mental attitude, vigorous daily exercise, and eating only the foods we were designed by God to be properly nourished with. The only nourishment God ever intended for us to provide our bodies with are: pure water (necessary to hydrate the body), fresh air (oxygen, “the breath of life”), sunlight (energy and vitamin D), and raw fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts (vitamins, minerals, enzymes, anti-oxidants and so much more). As long as these basic needs are met, the body is self-sufficient, self-healing, and will function as God designed. But when we deviate from these basic biological needs, the body becomes clogged with toxins, energy is depleted, physical problems manifest, and life is shortened. Sadly, today when faced with sickness, rather than helping the body to restore itself to wellness by eliminating those things in our diet and lifestyle that created the problem, modern medicine seeks to aggressively attack the symptom with more toxins (drugs) that only exacerbate the already existing problem, often creating new problems. The way we deal with sickness today is barbaric and produces horrible consequences. Not a day goes by that I do not receive through personal contact, emails, and/or phone calls from people with heart wrenching stories of how allopathic medicine has not only failed to take away their physical problems but actually aggravated them. For example, here are just two of the many emails I received yesterday. As you read them, please note the physical problems they are dealing with and the frustrations they experienced as they pursue the medical route:
Rev. Malkmus, I am wondering how to begin The Hallelujah Diet. My 27-year old daughter’s stomach is so sensitive. She was diagnosed with lupus at age 18. At age 20 she developed shingles on her lower back and down her legs. She was hurting so bad she became almost unable to walk. After being diagnosed with neuropathy, she lost her ability to walk. She has been on so many medications for pain which she is still on. Last month she had to have her left index finger amputated along with tips of her middle and ring finger. This produced ever more pain and of course the doctors prescribed more pain pills. Now her hair is falling out and all she wants to do is sleep. Rev. Malkmus, I know you are not a doctor but I am hoping you can help me start introducing my daughter to The Hallelujah Diet so that I can help her get her life back. Please help! I am so tired of doctors and their pills.” Jennie
“My husband was diagnosed with kidney and bladder cancer in October 2010. His right kidney and the bladder tumor were surgically removed. The doctors told us he would have to have follow-up scans every few months. Then he developed back pain about two weeks ago and thought he had pulled a muscle. He went to the doctor for help with that problem and a CT scan that same afternoon revealed several nodules on both his lungs and one on his spine. The doctors think the kidney cancer has spread to these other places. A lung biopsy is scheduled, and then we are to meet with an oncologist who will offer us treatment options. Our pastor told us about you, Dr. Malkmus, and your website and ministry. Can you give us some guidance? Can you offer us any hope? Can you help us? My husband is only 61-years-old.” Pam
Concluding Words Next week, the good Lord willing, we will build on the foundations we have laid in the past two articles and reveal how a person can obtain and maintain wellness through a simple diet and lifestyle change — without the need for doctors and drugs.
