The very first issue of the Hallelujah Acres Health Tip was dated December 2, 1997,nearly 15 years ago, and was mailed to only a few hundred email addresses, almost entirely in the United States.
Our most recent Health Tip, dated October 9, 2012, was
mailed out to nearly 100,000 email addresses around the world. That’s an amazing increase in the number of subscribers in less than two decades.
But why has the Hallelujah Acres Health Tip grown so remarkably? The answer is that it is
the only weekly Health Tip in the world addressing healthcare issues written from a Biblical perspective.
Almost all other healthcare information available today on television and radio, the printed page, and on the Internet uses the dogma of the traditional approach to healthcare: doctors, drugs, surgeries, and other medical modalities. There are just no other viable alternatives being made available to the people, especially God’s people.
As a result, millions of Christians around the world appreciate a website and health tips that proclaims
God’s health message. We have been providing this service to the Christian community since Hallelujah Acres had its beginning in 1992.
The first 61 issues of the Hallelujah Health Tip were written by a staff member here at Hallelujah Acres, but beginning with Health Tip #62, I
have written all Health Tips.
Fifteen years of previously written Health Tips messages (777 in all) are available in The Hallelujah Acres Health Tip Archives, and almost every one of them contains a feature article proclaiming God’s plan for the proper nourishment of the human physical body.
777 – The Number of Completeness
As I was pondering the significance of last week’s Health Tip issue, I wondered if God was trying to send me a message regarding the Hallelujah Acres Health Tip. The number of last week’s Health Tip (#777) has significance to the Biblical scholar; “7” is the number of completeness. “God rested on the 7th day (Genesis 2:1-3), signifying the completion of God’s creation.
Creation – How Health Tips Are Written
For the past 15 years, having to produce a Health Tip has been constantly on my mind. The pressure has never been off – just as soon as I submitted one Health Tip I was having to produce the next week’s Health Tip.
Each week for the past 716 weeks, I had to come up with a theme for the feature article, then do the research and write the article. Then I write the sub-article, cull testimonies for the mailbag; write the What’s Going on at Hallelujah Acres article, and finally type in the recipe from Rhonda.
The feature article alone contains enough words to equal a chapter in a book. Can you imagine just how large a book would be if it contained 716 chapters? Each week, the feature article takes me 15-20 hours of time and the completed Health Tip 20-30 hours. And these had to be written weekly in addition to traveling across America and to foreign lands to do seminars, along with all the other things that needed to be done.
Makes me tired just thinking about it.
When I began writing these Health Tips, I would arise for the day at 4:00 a.m. and write them in the quiet of the day, before the phone started ringing and before other pressures needing to be dealt with. It was the only time I had to work on them because of my busy schedule. This worked well for many years, but I was constantly having difficulty getting to bed by 9:00 p.m. in order to get a healthy seven hours of sleep.
A few years ago, instead of getting up at 4:00 a.m. and staying up for the day as I had previously been doing, I started getting up at 3:00 a.m., working on my Health Tip until 6:00 a.m., and then going back to bed for an hour. Then recently I read an article telling of the dangers of not getting a good night’s rest, especially for senior citizens.
According to society, by the way, I crossed the line from being a middle-aged adult to being a senior adult nearly 20 years ago. I’ll soon be 79, and just a year from my 80th birthday, but many days I feel like a kid. Had I not been on The Hallelujah Diet, I do not believe I could have handled the workload and the stress.
Where Do We Go From Here
Despite the challenge, I am not going to stop writing and sending out these Hallelujah Acres weekly Health Tips. NO! But I am going to stop getting up at 3:00 a.m. each morning and spending three hours in my study writing.
Feature articles will continue, testimonies will continue, recipes will continue, and sharing what’s going on at Hallelujah Acres will continue. We will, however, be changing the format and cutting back on the number of pages in each weekly issue. My goal is to find a way to write them so I can get an uninterrupted good night’s sleep, the way God intended me to!
