For many years now I have had numerous husbands and wives asking me in seminars, letters and private conversation, to please address the issue of “erectile dysfunction.”
Because of the sensitive nature of the subject and not wanting to offend anyone, or cause someone to feel uncomfortable, I have avoided dealing with this sensitive issue.
However, as the years have gone by, I feel it is past time to take up the issue. I trust that there will not be too many of our subscribers who think that my dealing with this subject inappropriate.
Following are just a few of the many letters I have received on the issue:
“Dear Brother George, I have been hearing testimonies of your health plan for the past several years. Most recently from a nearby church secretary who was diagnosed with cancer 18-months ago but now is doing well on The Hallelujah Diet. I have been diagnosed with diabetes, and heart issues (my father and two brothers have already died from heart attacks). Recently, I have had a major issue with ED, and was wondering if The Hallelujah Diet has any testimonials of help in this area. I have searched your website and books and cannot find any. I look forward to your response.” Pastor H.
“Dear George, I’m very much enjoying your lifestyle message, however I have never seen your comments/opinions on the subject of The Hallelujah Diet and Lifestyle concerning sexuality. Your coverage of this subject in future articles would be greatly appreciated. Surely God has something to say on the subject. Thank you.” William
“Dear Dr. Malkmus, I am a little embarrassed bringing up and seeking help regarding this intimacy subject, but it is causing relationship problems in our home. My husband and I have always had such a beautiful loving relationship but now he is unable to perform and refuses to seek help. I am becoming increasingly concerned for our marriage and am seeking your help. Can The Hallelujah Diet improve erectile dysfunction? If you can offer any help in this area it would be greatly appreciated.” Irene
“Brother George, Hallelujah! I was 84 years OLD and now am 84 years YOUNG. For years I have been unable to have a sexual relationship with my wife due to erectile dysfunction. But since adopting The Hallelujah Diet I have my youth back and how sweet it is to once again be able to have a loving and sexual relationship with my wife. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, and thank you Brother George.” BenWhat Does The Bible Have To Say? Before we go any further, I want to make sure that we have God’s wisdom, blessing, and mind on what is about to be shared concerning the subject of erectile dysfunction. And the only way I am aware of to know for sure what God’s will is concerning this subject is to turn to the source of all truth, God’s Holy Word, the Bible, where we learn: God Created the First Man and the First Woman “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Genesis 2:7) “And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.” (Genesis 2:21-22) “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.” (Genesis 3:20) God Ordained Marriage Between One Man and One Woman “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and they were not ashamed.” (Genesis 2:24-25) “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord.” (Proverbs 18:22) “Neither shall he multiply wives to himself . . .” (Deuteronomy 17:17) Jesus said: “Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” (Matthew 19:4-6) God Ordained Children “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply and replenish the earth . . .” (Genesis 1:28) Sexual Relationship Outside of Marriage Condemned “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” (Hebrews 13:4) Sexual Relationship with Same Sex Condemned “Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.” (Romans 1:24-28) What We Have Learned From The Bible We have learned from the Bible that the subject of erectile dysfunction, which is what we are dealing with here, is only for those men who are married to one woman. In no way am I sharing this information for the use of those who would use it outside of the marriage bed between one man and one woman. The Cause of Erectile Dysfunction Every physical problem has a cause! The Bible tells us in Proverbs 26:2 that “The curse CAUSELESS shall not come.” A little investigation will reveal that there are many underlying physical and psychological causes of erectile dysfunction, but the primary cause is reduced blood flow to the penis. And the cause of this reduced blood flow can be:
-
Vascular Disease – Arteriosclerosis, the hardening and narrowing of the arteries, causes a reduction in blood flow throughout the body and can lead to impotence. It is frequently
associated with age and accounts for 50 to 60% of impotence in men over 60.
- Diabetes – Chronic high levels of blood sugar associated with diabetes often damage small blood vessels and nerves throughout the body which can impair nerve impulses and blood flow necessary for erection. Some 60% of men with diabetes experience impotence.
- Drugs – Over 200 prescribed drugs are known to cause or contribute to impotence, including drugs for high blood pressure, antidepressants, tranquilizers and sedatives. Alcohol frequently affects the vascular and nervous systems and is associated with erectile dysfunction as well.
- Other Causes – Hormone imbalances, neurological conditions, surgery, radiation, and psychological conditions.
