In the previous six Health Tips we have been dealing with the subject: “What Did God Tell Us We Should Eat?”
In the first of this series, I began by saying: “Ever since Hallelujah Acres had its beginning in 1992, over 23 years ago, I have been claiming that the Bible should be our source of knowledge concerning every decision we make in life, including what we should and should not eat.”
Well, just as much as I have consistently declared that what we teach here at Hallelujah Acres concerning what we should and should not eat is indeed biblical, this teaching has been challenged, sometimes very vehemently (and sometimes quite unkindly) by those who claim that what Hallelujah Acres teaches is not biblical.
Through the years, I have attempted to answer our critics with a little Scripture here and a lot of Scripture there. Yet no matter how many verses I shared in refuting the charges, the challenges continued. So in this series, I will attempt to deal with all the verses concerning what we should and should not eat found in the Bible.”
In last week’s Health Tip, we took a long look at Acts 10, and saw very clearly that this portion of Scripture has nothing whatsoever to do with what we should or shouldn’t eat, but everything to do with God preparing Peter to take the Gospel to the gentiles. Those who try and use Acts 10 to refute Hallelujah Acres teaching regarding the consuming of animal source foods will not find a single verse to support them there.
In this Health Tip, we return to the Old Testament to take a look at another very interesting portion of Scripture:
“And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel . . . children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.” ~ Daniel 1:3-4This first chapter of the book of Daniel is a very important portion of Scripture concerning the subject of this series: “What Does God Tell Us We Should Eat?” The time in history the events found in Daniel 1 are taking place is approximately 607 B.C., or some 3,400 years after God had told Adam what was to be the food man was to nourish the physical body with in Genesis 1:29.
“And God said, behold, I have given you every herb (vegetable) bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.” ~ Genesis 1:29In the Scripture from the book of Daniel, we learn that king Nebuchadnezzar tells Ashpenaz to gather together a number of “the children of Israel,” that were the smartest he could find, and for what purpose? – “to stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.” And what did the king tell Ashpenaz he wanted these Hebrew children to be nourished with while in preparation for service?
“And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king’s meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end therof they might stand before the king. . . But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” ~ Daniel 1:5 & 8Before we go any further here, let’s reiterate what it was that God told Adam he was to nourish his body with some 3,400 years prior to Daniel coming on the scene:
“And God said, behold, I have given you every herb (vegetable) bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.” ~ Genesis 1:29This original diet that God gave Adam was a pure, plant-sourced (vegan) diet, free of any animal flesh. As we come to these Scriptures in Daniel chapter one, what does Daniel ask he be given to eat in place of the meat? He asks for “pulse”, a 100%, pure plant-sourced food, free of any “meat.” Webster defines “pulse” as “the edible seeds of certain leguminous plants, as peas or beans” or “porridge of spelt or another grain.” The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia defines “pulse” as “It must mean herbs or vegetables grown from seeds – a vegetable diet is what is implied here.” Now why do you think Daniel would ask that he not have to eat the “meat” or drink the “wine” the king wanted him to eat and drink? Today, we have an abundance of scientific research revealing that meat is one of the most dangerous foods we can consume, and is either the cause or contributing cause of up to 90% of all the physical problems being experienced today. Yet Daniel, without all the knowledge we have available to us today, asked that he not be forced to eat “meat!” And of course we know why Daniel did not want to drink the wine, because he knew what God had to say about it in the Scriptures:
"Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise." ~ Proverbs 20:1When Daniel asks that he only be given “pulse” (veggies) to eat and “water” to drink, how did the “prince of the eunichs” respond?
“Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs, and the prince of the eunichs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? Then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.” ~ Daniel 1:9-10The prince of the eunichs said, if I give you only veggies to eat and water to drink, the king will "see your faces worse liking" than the others, and that would "endanger my head." In other words, the eunuch said to Daniel, "if you eat only veggies and water, you will look unhealthy and the king might take my life because I didn’t feed you properly."
“Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunichs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink. Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king’s meat: and as thou seest, deal with they servants.” ~ Daniel 1:11-13Friends that took guts and faith on the part of Daniel! Here at Hallelujah Acres, we challenge people all the time to give the Hallelujah Diet a try. We say: “Just give our diet a 21-day test in your own body and then you judge the results.” And you know what? Those who have taken our challenge almost always get the same results as Daniel and the three Hebrew children!
“So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days. And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat. Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse.” ~ Daniel 1:14-16 “As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom . . . At the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king." ~ Daniel 1: 17-19 “And in all matters of wisdom and understanding that the king enquired of them he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.” ~ Daniel 1:20-21How about it friend? Are you willing to be a Daniel? Are you willing to forsake the Standard American Diet (the king’s food diet), and give the Hallelujah Diet a try? There is a little song we used to sing in the various churches I pastored. It went something like this: “Dare to be a Daniel? Dare to stand-alone? Dare to have a purpose firm? Dare to make it known?” Thank God, we have some modern-day Daniels today, multitudes in fact, who have taken the Hallelujah Diet challenge, dared to make the diet change we teach, and as a result, tens-of-thousands have written to tell us that as a result of making that diet change, almost all their physical problems went away. You read their testimonies every week in these Hallelujah Health Tips. Thus far, we have received tens-of-thousands of testimonies, reporting over 170 different physical problems simply disappearing after adopting the Hallelujah Diet. Of course, some have fallen by the wayside when someone in the family or a friend, or someone at church tried to discourage them, or told them that if they adopted the Hallelujah Diet, their health would suffer. Others rejected the Hallelujah Diet because they simply didn’t dare to be different. And thus, these poor folks fell by the wayside and as a result never experienced the healing power of God’s ORIGINAL plant-based diet. And most of them, as a consequence, continue to this very day to suffer with physical problems that could have been a thing of the past, if only they had stood up to the naysayers, and dared to be different. Daniel personally experienced the power of a 100% plant-based diet thousands of years ago. I experienced the power of a 100% plant-based diet over 40 years ago. Multitudes of others have experienced it! You too can experience the power of a 100% plant-based diet if you will but give the Hallelujah Diet a try. Will you DARE TO BE A MODERN DAY DANIEL? Editor's Note: Take the Daniel challenge by adopting The Hallelujah Diet for just 21 days. Please send me an email at george@hacres.com and on the “Subject” line write: “Taking the 21-day Daniel challenge.” I will print off a copy of all who respond. Then Rhonda and I will include you in our prayers as we kneel beside our bed each evening before retiring. To be continued . . . . Next week, the good Lord willing and if the creeks don’t rise too high we will return with another exciting issue of the Hallelujah Health Tip. Trust you will join us and that you will share these Health Tips with friends and loved ones.
