Your Diet Affects Your Emotions

What we eat has a profound effect on our emotions. Read how one woman overcame "severe mood swings" with a simple change in diet and lifestyle.
I receive letters from subscribers to the Hallelujah Health Tip daily! I especially appreciate the letters containing testimonials of how The Hallelujah Diet has improved someone’s health. So please keep those letters coming, as they greatly encourage and inspire me as well as the others who read them.
“I have struggled all my life with binge eating and severe mood swings to the point I thought I was bipolar. As a result of my binge eating I have been overweight most of my life. I often felt convicted about gluttony and anger and when I reached 210 pounds started to give up hope. “When I opened my heart to a friend, she shared with me an article Rev. Malkmus had published about sugar and how addictive sugar was – and then when he shared the symptoms associated with sugar consumption – I realized I was experiencing every one of them. Slowly I became convinced that I needed to give up all forms of refined sugar. “My effort to give up sugar completely resulted in a roller coaster effort and finally out of desperation committed to completely following The Hallelujah Diet but didn’t know how or where to start. With the help of Paul and Ann’s 60 Days to Reclaim Your Health videos I purchased some BarleyMax and began drinking all kinds of juices, some I didn’t even know could be juiced, and started eating lots of living (raw) foods. “I have now been on The Hallelujah Diet for nearly five months. Within the first three months on the diet I lost 50 pounds and since then have lost an additional 10 pounds. More important than that, the cycle of binge eating, dieting, depression, out of control anger and racing thoughts, has been broken by eating The Hallelujah Diet. “And, no, I don’t feel like I am missing out on something by not eating those junk foods any more. Rather, I feel badly for those who choose junk food over living food because I now realize that they are the one’s missing out on God’s best. My husband and daughters are also benefiting from the changes I have made in my diet because they too have changed their diets. “I thank God first and foremost for leading me to the Hallelujah Acres website. Hallelujah! I also wanted to thank Paul and Ann as well for taking the time and putting forth the effort to make those videos. They have been educational, motivational and lighthearted. And thank you Dr. Malkmus for sharing your enthusiasm and making information and recipes so readily available.” Karen C., Trenton, Ohio
“You have done a marvelous work with your health message. I have been on The Hallelujah Diet for nearly 10 years now. I am just a little older than you and I too am in excellent health. "My doctor tells me I should live to be 120 — but I can’t hold him to it as he probably won’t be around by then to see if his prediction holds true! "People are definitely what they eat and the Hallelujah lifestyle is the only way to live in this sinful and polluted world. I only wish we lived closer to your place in North Carolina. God has certainly blessed you.” George C., Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada
“I have a question regarding BarleyMax. I am a friend of one of your Health Ministers and she suggested I write you with regard to my question. I have recently been diagnoses with having celiac disease. Because of this condition I have been advised to eat no wheat, barley, or rye. Because BarleyMax contains barley, should I stop taking BarleyMax?” Bonnie C.
Editor Responds: Gluten is found only in the grain (seed) of the plant. Since the barley grass used to make BarleyMax is harvested before the head of grain develops, there is no gluten in it. We have had BarleyMax tested by a lab to ensure there is no gluten in the product. Thus it is safe for persons with celiac disease.
