About 35 percent of adults in the U.S. are considered obese, according to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. More than 1 in 20 of those people are labeled extremely obese. Consequently, most of these adults who are interested in losing weight are looking for the quick fix solution. What's unfortunate is the healthiest way – following a nutritious, primarily raw diet paired with regular exercise – doesn't show progress overnight, so many Americans overlook it as the best approach.

Therefore, it's not surprising that there are so many radical, intrusive methods people are willing to undergo to lose excess body fat.

Health expert Olin Idol addressed concerns as to why so many people are willing to turn to a fast but unhealthy solution.

"We live in a world today where people have been conditioned to look for a quick fix to their problems," he said. "We lack the information, self-discipline and often the resources to address our concerns."

Some Americans would rather the easy way out then lose weight naturally. Some Americans would rather take the easy way out than lose weight naturally.

Let's take a closer look at just how far some people will go to achieve their weight loss goals:

Surprising Intrusive Methods
There are a number of radical surgeries out there that can actually help people lose weight almost overnight. For example, there's lap-band surgery, which squeezes the stomach with a silicone band, ABC News reported. Gastric bypass, another invasive surgery, reroutes your small intestine to a smaller stomach pouch. Sleeve Gastrectomy, another under-the-knife procedure, removes about 80 percent of the stomach.

Another off-the-wall weight loss method involves a stomach pump device that removes the food from your body before it's converted into fat. It's a less invasive surgery than those mentioned before, but it still involves an incision. How does it work? It's essentially a feeding tube in reverse, pumping a third of the food you're consuming right back out of your stomach before calories are absorbed. Does it work? Well, ABC News followed a woman who was involved in a clinical trial for the device – in which she lost 76 pounds in six months. But will the results last? And is this a healthy way to nourish and take care of our bodies created by the hands of God?

Dr. Mitchell Roslin told ABC News that while this option may be initially effective, the feeding tube is not the most reliable choice for keeping the weight off. That's because it's not going to change patients' eating habits the way a surgical procedure or lifestyle readjustment would.

"A feeding tube might be initially effective, but it's not likely to keep weight off."

"If you continue to siphon 30 percent of what you eat you will maintain the weight loss," he said. "When you stop doing it, I would bet my bottom dollar, that your eating is actually going to increase and go beyond what you used to eat and you're going to gain every last pound back."

All in all, an intrusive method might seem like a quick fix, but it doesn't mean it'll keep the weight off in the long-run. Not only that, but other health concerns could arise as a result of one of these radical methods. Olin agrees, as well, and stresses the importance of making wise choices when it comes to taking care of your body.

"Depending upon the specific procedure, dietary choices may be limited and the size of a meal and frequency of eating will be radically altered, causing major digestive issues with limited ability to absorb adequate nutrients," he said. "Many of these issues will be life-long challenges that could be avoided with proper dietary changes. When are willing to make wise choices, these situations can be reversed without radical intervention that is accompanied by a lifetime of negative side-effects."

Choosing the Hallelujah Diet Instead
Instead of opting for an intrusive method that could lead to health complications later in life, Americans should consider a natural, realistic approach. It might not show results overnight, but there's not a healthy method that will. Olin believes following the Hallelujah Diet is the smartest, most effective choice anyone can make for weight loss and improving overall health and well-being.

"The goal of the Hallelujah Diet is to provide the conditions and resources that allow the body's own innate intelligence to achieve and maintain health and ideal weight," he said. "The Hallelujah Diet teaches you how to take responsibility for your own health."

Before opting for an intrusive, radical method, think twice about the potential life-long consequences that could occur. Instead, consider following Godly principles that show that you care for your body both physically and spiritually. The Hallelujah Diet can inspire you to do just that, encouraging you to take advantage of the fruits of the earth to fuel a healthy body and maintain a target weight.
