Last night we presented a webinar on why it is so hard to lose weight. We had a fantastic number of people attend which is a testament to the frustrations that abound in this area. Even people on the Hallelujah Diet find weight loss can be elusive (especially women). We broke it down to 22 reasons. We also discussed the toxins both environmentally as well as others that can contribute to the challenges in losing weight. Hormones can be instrumental in weight loss but how can we help them help our metabolism? We provided numerous hormone healthy food suggestions, supplements as well as essential oils that can give your body the boost it needs to burn fat, create ways to use insulin more wisely and continue to give you energy.
It really is important to detox, reduce inflammation and exercise all the while you are trying to lose weight. Another discussion point was that it is better to be fit than thin. It isn’t about the size of your clothes that is important. Rather, it is about the amount of oxygen you are getting into your body. Exercise will help you prevent disease even if you have a big tummy! Yes, that is what science has shown!
We spent a lot of time talking about the exercises that are best for both weight loss as well as fitness. We can give you a hint right now: The lifting of the TV remote control, even in repetition, does nothing for your muscles….
However, true strength training and cardio are a real hit with your body, your metabolism and your life extension.
Another part of the program was devoted to using technology to help motivate, inspire and stay on track. Whether we like it or not, technology is here to stay. So, we might as well make the most of it and learn to use it to benefit us. More and more “apps” are available to help us with our weight loss and personal fitness. We highlighted several of those in our webinar last night.
Without giving too much away, here are the best weight loss practices that research from the National Weight Loss Registry has found:
- Walk 60 minutes a day
- Eat breakfast
- Weigh yourself daily
- Maintain your diet no matter what is happening in your life
- Maintain a food journal
