Hi folks! Paul here.
Of all the diseases known to man, there are few that strike fear in us the way that cancer does, partly due to the host of challenging side effects commonly related to conventional methods of handling the disease.
My father, Rev George Malkmus, is no stranger to this fear.
In 1976, upon learning that he had colon cancer, he, like most, was afraid and full of questions.
The first was how to avoid the same unfortunate route that his own mother had taken during her battle with colon cancer years before.
Having watched her undergo a great deal of suffering and an untimely death in the hands of traditional cancer treatments, he resolved to find a better way.
What he didn’t realize was that his search would result in a journey that would not only allow him to heal, but help him to discover the best health of his life – a path that thousands around the world would eventually come to know as The Hallelujah Diet® .
And while they experienced very different outcomes in response to their chosen treatment methods,my father and grandmother were far from alone in their battle against colon cancer.
In the United States, 140,000 people are diagnosed with colorectal cancer every year - 50,000 die from it.
However, it is estimated that 75-95% of people that are diagnosed with colon cancer have little or no genetic risk associated with the disease.
What this means is that colon cancer is a direct result of lifestyle habits.
More precisely, the consumption of animal products, obesity and lack of physical activity are top risk factors for the disease.
Countless studies now show that one of the biggest risks associated with colon cancer is the consumption of red and processed meats.
As reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association, red meat consumption is found to increase your risk by 30-40%, while the consumption of processed meats (i.e. bacon, hot dogs, sausage, deli meat) increases your colon cancer risk by 50%!
Epidemiologist Michael Thun, with the American Cancer Society explains, “when you heat meat, and particularly fat, at very high temperatures, you can produce a number of chemical groups that damage DNA.”
Thankfully, the dense living nutrients found in raw foods and their juices provide the nutrition that our cells need to create healthy new cells and correct DNA damage!
Another major risk factor is the intake of unhealthy fats.
In particular, trans fats (the result of hydrogenated vegetable oils) have been linked to a staggering 86% increase in the risk of colon cancer, as they contribute to precancerous growths and polyps in the colon.
However, trans fats are easily avoided on The Hallelujah Diet®, as they are found mostly in processed, pre-packaged foods and not found in fruits, vegetables or whole grains.
Mounting scientific research also suggests that Curcumin, the powerful agent found in turmeric, is an incredible ally in the fight against colon cancer.
Curcumin’s antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties help protect the body from cancer by reducing disease forming free radicals.
While fresh turmeric only contains 3-5% curcumin, Hallelujah Acres® Bio-Curcumin is one of the most active, bioavailable forms of this incredible cancer fighting phenol obtainable.
And let’s not forget probiotics, those valuable defenders of colon health that help block the formation of “bad” bacteria, facilitate good digestion and give the body the health promoting boost of vitamin B it needs to guard the body against disease!
Hallelujah Acres® Professional Strength Probiotic provides maximum protection to your entire gastro-intestinal tract (GI)! Professional Strength Probiotic uses a patented probiotic delivery system that coats your entire GI delivering beneficial bacteria all the way to your colon boosting your immune system and helpingto fight disease-causing bacteria. The bottom line – the choice is yours.
The decisions you make each day regarding what you eat have the ability to either make you sick or raise you to a level of health that could prevent illness and heal existing damage.
By choosing minimally processed foods, avoiding animal products and eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains, you are making the choice to keep your colon clean from contaminates and give your body what it needs to generate healthy new cells that are able to fight back against disease.
And that is what The Hallelujah Diet® is really all about!
