Has The Mighty Monsanto Met Its Match?

Has The Mighty Monsanto Met Its Match?

Recently, the state of California has taken a stand that has made Monsanto lawyers quite upset. California can now require Monsanto to label its popular weed-killer Roundup as a possible cancer threat despite an insistence from the chemical giant’s lawyers that it poses no risk to people, a judge has tentatively ruled.

California would be the first state to order such labeling if it carries out the proposal. Roundup's main ingredient, glyphosate, which has no color or smell was introduced in 1974 as an effective way of killing weeds while leaving crops and plants intact.

Roundup is sold in more than 160 countries, and farmers in California use it on 250 types of crops. The chemical is not restricted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which says it has "low toxicity" and recommends people avoid entering a field for 12 hours after it has been applied.

But the International Agency for Research on Cancer, a Lyon, France-based branch of the U.N. World Health Organization, classified the chemical as a "probable human carcinogen."

Shortly afterward, California took its first step in 2015 to require the warning labels.

Of the hundreds of studies that have been completed on glyphosate and poor health, an MIT study published in March 2014 suggests that celiac disease, and, more generally, gluten intolerance, is a growing problem worldwide, but especially in North America and Europe, where an estimated 5% of the population now suffers from it. It is a multifactorial disease associated with numerous nutritional deficiencies as well as reproductive issues and increased risk of thyroid disease, kidney failure and cancer.

This study found that glyphosate, the active ingredient in the herbicide, Roundup®, is the most important causal factor in this epidemic. Fish exposed to glyphosate develop digestive problems that are reminiscent of celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. Celiac disease and gluten intolerance are associated with imbalances in gut bacteria that can be fully explained by the known effects of glyphosate on gut bacteria. Enzymes, which are involved with detoxifying environmental toxins, activating vitamin D3, and vitamin A, and maintaining bile acid production and sulfate supplies to the gut are inhibited by glyphosate.

Deficiencies in iron, cobalt, molybdenum, copper and other rare metals associated with celiac disease or gluten intolerance can be attributed to glyphosate’s strong ability to chelate (excrete) these elements. Deficiencies in tryptophan, tyrosine, methionine and selenomethionine match glyphosate’s known depletion of these amino acids.

Celiac disease and gluten intolerant people have an increased risk to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which has also been implicated in glyphosate exposure. Reproductive issues associated with celiac disease and gluten intolerance, such as infertility, miscarriages, and birth defects, can also be explained by glyphosate.

Glyphosate residues in wheat and other crops are likely increasing due to the growing practice of crop desiccation just prior to the harvest.

Another MIT study indicates that glyphosate may be contributing to the autism epidemic in part through its suppression of thyroid hormone production in pregnant moms. This study suggests that by 2025, 50% of all children will have autism.

As you can see, it isn’t enough to merely place a warning label on a container of Roundup, when this very poison is being used on 250 crops in California alone. We have no idea just how many states with other crops are being poisoned by this deadly toxin.

How is it that our very own EPA has never deemed it dangerous but the French do?

It is called lobbying. Monsanto spends more money on lobbying Washington DC than you or I will ever see in our lifetimes.

Ironically, I just received a very interesting invitation this week from the Reformation Prayer Network. Coincidence? Not likely.

The invitation was to all women especially, but men as well to begin a 3 Day Esther Fast starting today, Thursday through Saturday sundown.

The purpose: Troubling events are occurring both in the United States and around the world. Specifically, the recent women’s march, the denigration of President Trump, Jewish Community Centers receiving bomb threats, etc.

Well, as I read the recent news about California moving a slow step toward giving Monsanto a small slap on the wrist, I knew this would have to take an act of God, or His people to move Monsanto away from killing any more of His people.

So, since it is the season of Fasting, and since there are many, many more areas of tribulation and turbulence happening all around you and I, I have agreed to begin a 3-Day Esther Fast with hopefully thousands of men and women around the world, to pray that this incessant division of minds as well as the greed of Monsanto, Pharmaceutical companies and others will be addressed and allayed in the hopes to enhance relationships but also the health of our country and all countries that are falling victim to the mighty hands of Monsanto.
