Magnesium Prevents Kidney Stones

In the April 2014 issue of Russell Blaylock MD’s monthly publication, “The Blaylock Wellness Report”, he had an interesting article regarding kidney stones in which he shared that kidney stones contain calcium.Kidney stones can cause one of the most painful conditions to afflict mankind, and that sometimes even powerful narcotics cannot control the intense pain. He went on to say that 1,000 mg of magnesium citrate/malate in water was administered to one of his patients and had a profound effect on reducing pain. “I researched kidney stones and magnesium," he says. "I learned that magnesium powerfully suppresses the formation of calcium-type stones. It also acts as a powerful relaxant for muscle spasms within the ureter – which is the cause of the excruciating pain associated with kidney stones.” Later in the article he shared that orange juice also reduces kidney stones because of the organic acids in the juice as well as flavonoids (hesperidin) that prohibited the development of stones.
