When Hallelujah Acres was founded on February 12, 1992 — promoting a plant-based diet — we received a lot of criticism from the Christian community.
Fast forward 23 years and that idea isn't so crazy anymore.
In fact, we would like to think that we have had a big part to play in the wide acceptance of a plant based diet today.
This past week there were several newspaper articles promoting what we have been proclaiming these past 23 years and I thought you might be interested in reading a few of them:
Two New York Public Schools adopted a 100% vegetarian menu and the results are showing improved test scores and longer attention span!
In another article, obese children experienced profound health changes in four weeks by eating a plant-based vegan diet!
And then there was this most recent article issued by the U.S. Government titled “New Diet Proposals: The article begins with:”Eat Your Veggies” and continues by saying: “New dietary guidelines for Americans should aim to get people to eat more vegetables, less fat and salt and to exercise more.”
The report goes on to say:
“On average, the U.S. diet is low in vegetables, fruit, and whole grains and too high in calories, saturated fat, sodium, refined and added sugars ... a diet higher in plant-based foods, such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds and lower in calories and animal-based foods is more health-promoting."Why has it taken man so long to accept what God has been telling us from the beginning in Genesis 1:29:
“AND GOD SAID, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing (VEGETABLE) seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the FRUIT of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat (FOOD).”It has been almost 40 years since I changed my diet from an animal flesh and dairy-based diet to a plant-based diet and I attribute my excellent health at the age of 81 to this diet change. In fact, I haven’t experienced a cold or the flu even one time since making that diet change almost 40 years ago.
