One of the many monthly health news magazines I subscribe to is “Health Alert” written by Dr. Bruce West. In the August 2015 issue of his publication he had an article titled “100% Cooked-Food Diet Causes Arthritis and Disease”. Excerpts of that article follow:
“Long ago pioneer doctors and researchers proved that, for most people, arthritis is a cooked-food disease. That means without the adequate nutrition and enzymes you get from eating raw foods, physical breakdown, arthritis, and degenerative disease is the end result. This is simply a fact. You either have to eat some of your foods raw, and/or you have to take raw, whole-food phyto-nutrients to avoid arthritis and disease. “Perhaps the simplest way to get the nutrition from raw foods is to have one large raw salad daily. Your salad can have some form of green leafy vegetable with any of up to a dozen raw additions-----like nuts, seeds, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado, olives, beets, jicama, and more. And perhaps the most important thing that makes our salad delicious, and insures that you will eat a daily salad is the dressing. “I would never put store-bought salad dressing on my salad. These, for the most part, are an unhealthy abomination. It is so easy to make our own very healthy version. All you need is the right ingredients. ….” Hallelujah Diet Salad Dressing Recipes “When you make salad dressings, be sure to use the very best ingredients, like the best olive oil, cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar, and salt. When you make your own salad dressings from scratch using the best ingredients, your salad will be simply delicious. “So get some fresh produce, shop at a farmer’s market if possible, mix your own dressings using the finest ingredients (there are lots of recipes available), and eat some of your daily foods raw. You will love the taste. Your body will love the nutrition. After 3-6 months, you will notice the difference in your health, your diminished aches and pains, and the way you look.”
