Rev. George Malkmus, I am 52 years old and have been ill since 1983. I will list the diseases the medical doctors labeled me with:
* Heart disease: suffered an acute heart attack in 1996.
* Chronic obstructed pulmonary disease: stage three, on 3 inhalers, a nebulizer, and 2 meds, plus 60 mg. Prednisone daily
* Anemia
* Thyroid disease
* Mitro valve prolapsed
* Two herniated discs due to a back injury
* Elevated cholesterol and triglycerides
* Angina
* Arthritis, and too many more to list them all
The doctors gave me about 6 months to live in May of 2001. Every day was taken up with taking more than 20 drugs and endless doctor appointments; hospital treatments; pain management clinics; rehab; oxygen tanks of all sizes filled my bedroom; while nebulizer treatments and inhalers were the start of each morning. Just getting through each morning's bath with 50 feet of hose attached to the oxygen tank, getting dressed, a light meal and picking up the apartment was exhausting.
In February 2002 I said, 'Enough! I'm taking charge now over my body and mind.' The doctors have had it long enough, and I was so very ill and in such pain from the two herniated discs, which was more than a human being could endure.
Within eight weeks I went from a wheelchair, to a walker, to a cane, to walking without a cane, and gradually discontinued all medical treatments. I have been on a healthy God's Garden Lifestyle for a while now and feel so good! I do exercise my back twice a day and am able to walk 3 miles each day. I challenge hills with no shortness of breath at all, no chest pain, no stopping to catch my breath, no dizziness or light headedness.
I surround myself with loving, caring, kind people, along with my dear longtime friends. I attend a great little Baptist church, where warmth surrounds me each Sunday morning. I'm celebrating my physical re-birth (life abundantly). "I can do all things thru Christ which strengthens me." I plan on moving to the south this fall as I have had enough of snow and ice that lasts seven or more months each winter. May the Lord bless you. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the good works that you've all done and continue to do.
