Ingredients:
1 pint Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2-3 cloves of Garlic
Directions:
I put 2-3 cut cloves of garlic in my bottle of Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This gives a lovely garlic flavor when added to raw vegan salads. ENJOY!
A WARNING REGARDING GARLIC OLIVE OIL
Regarding this recipe, I received several letters of warning from our readers. Following is one of those letters: "I am a Nutrition counselor with Cornell Cooperative Extension and I must request that you send a correction out for the recipe in Health Tip #251 GARLIC/OLIVE OIL. The FDA has food safety guidelines, and this recipe does not follow them:
"'Do not store garlic in oil at room temperature. Garlic- in-oil mixtures stored at room temperature provide perfect conditions for producing botulism toxin, the same hazard exists from roasted garlic stored in oil . . . '"
"I do hope you can send this correction out to the list serve. I love your newsletters and would hate to stop getting them because of an unsafe recipe being published."
