“And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
"And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
"But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.” ~ Luke 10:33-34
If you will indulge me for a few minutes, before sharing tips for success in transitioning to the Hallelujah Diet, I would like to give the above parable a 2014 update:
“A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.”
For this 2014 update, I would like us to consider the way the average person is dealt with, and the results many obtain when they pursue the medical route for their numerous physical problems.
After the drugs, radiation and surgery, have not many been stripped of their life savings, and then left wounded, some even half-dead, while others are told they are going to die?
“And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.”
So now, after modern medicine has failed in an effort to restore health to that individual, along comes the “Priest” – the preacher, and fellow Christians. Oh yes, they take a moment to pray for that afflicted person, but they do nothing more than pray.
Then every once in a while, a wounded, half dead person, who has done everything the doctor said and is still suffering, will tell others in the church that they heard that a change in diet might help bring healing.
But this solution for their physical problems is often laughed at and ridiculed by preacher and fellow Christians, as they tell that suffering individual “you need to do what the doctor says,” or “a diet change can’t help you,” or “don’t do anything crazy,“ or “you need to just trust God,” or “if you had enough faith,” etc.
“But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.”
And consider that wounded person lying along the roadside as being... you.
Almost daily, subscribers to this Health Tip write to tell me of their physical problems, problems that modern medicine has been unable to eliminate, and ask my help and advice — but I can't. It's against the law for anyone apart from a medical professional to give advice about health!
Today, there is but one legal venue a person can pursue when dealing with physical or psychological problems: The medical industry.
This medical industry has great political and monetary power, and is controlled by the American Medical Association (a powerful union of doctors), the multi-billion dollar drug industry, and now the government through Obamacare.
This medical industry has a monopoly on "healing" modalities, and federal and state laws have been established to protect this monopoly from any and all competition.
But what does the Bible have to say about this monopoly — which the whole country, including the Christian community has bought into... or should I say "forced" into?
Some 2,000 years ago, the Bible had this to say about the "modern medicine" of that time:
“And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse.” ~ Mark 5:25-26
Does not this Scripture give a very accurate picture of what so often happens when a person pursues the modern medical route for their physical ills?
Have you ever been HEALED of anything when you pursued the medical route?
If you are diabetic, have the doctors and drugs been able to HEAL you of your diabetic condition? Or rather, have you been told that you will have to be on insulin the rest of your life, while you continue to experience deteriorating health, in spite of the best efforts of the doctor?
If you have arthritis, has the doctor HEALED you of that debilitating and painful condition, or rather have you been told that the condition will no doubt worsen, while sometimes surgery after surgery, and increasingly more powerful drugs for the increasing pain, fail to bring relief?
Maybe you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or high triglycerides — have you been HEALED of those problems, or rather, have you been told that you will have to take drugs for these symptoms for the rest of your life?
I could go on and on here, but I believe you are getting the idea.
Doctors and Drugs Do Not Heal People
The modern medical system keeps a person as a paying and repeat customer for a lifetime — by suppressing symptoms.
If the system could truly heal a person of their physical problem, they would cease to be a customer... and that would not be profitable.
There are exceptions, but rarely does one find a doctor who will seek to find the cause of the physical or psychological symptom the patient (customer) is experiencing and advise changes to eliminate the cause!
Wouldn't seeking out the cause of a physical or psychological problem make common sense?
Indeed, it would. But if the cause can be determined and eliminated, this simple solution would eliminate the need for the physician.
Once again, that's not profitable.
There are no exceptions — every physical and psychological problem we experience has a cause!
In fact, Proverbs 26:2 tells us, “So the curse causeless shall not come.”
Almost without exception, placing into our bodies harmful substances disguised as food and failing to exercise is the cause of almost every physical and psychological problem a person experiences.
So what is the solution to our physical and psychological problems?
It is very simple: Stop consuming harmful foods, replace the harmful foods with healthy foods, and start exercising.
Really, it is that simple!
Tens of thousands have written to tell me that when they changed their diet and started exercising, almost every problem they were experiencing simply went away.
You read the testimonies of those who through simple diet and lifestyle change were able to eliminate their problems every week in this Hallelujah Health Tip, and you can read thousands more here.
Transitioning To The Hallelujah Diet — Steps To Success
Several years ago, I received a letter from some folks who shared their personal experience on the Hallelujah Diet, as well as offering some tips they thought might help others who would like to follow the Hallelujah Diet.
The letter is from Gary who lives in North Carolina. At the time Gary wrote this letter, he and his wife Caroline had been on the Hallelujah Diet for approximately four months.
"Hi Reverend Malkmus: “The purpose of this message is to thank you on behalf of my wife and me for giving us the courage and the knowledge to improve our health. We attended your seminar…in September of last year. You were so convincing that at the end of the seminar; I turned to my wife and whispered, 'I'm going to do this!' “Despite her reservations, Caroline replied, 'Count me in, too!' Fortunately, we met a Health Minister at the seminar who guided us through our brief transition into the Hallelujah Diet. We purchased a Green Star juicer, immediately began our regimen of BarleyMax and Fiber Cleanse, and the rest is history. “Caroline has lost 15 pounds and cannot go out in public without people telling her how radiant her skin is. I have lost 35 pounds and feel better than I did 30 years ago. Both of us have boundless energy, we think more clearly, and our attitude is much more positive. Neither of us has been sick a day since going on the Hallelujah Diet. But the greatest gift is relief from worry about weight, illness, aches and pains, and other irritations that no longer exist. “Here are a few tips, which might help those who want to follow your wonderful Hallelujah Diet: 1. We sat down the day after your seminar and planned our strategy. We talked about the seriousness of the commitment, and we agreed that the transition represented a change in lifestyle, not merely a diet. We admitted our fear about being able to stick with such a radical change in our life (both of us grew up with food and drink as a centerpiece for social interaction). We then agreed to support each other completely, and not to punish ourselves if we 'slipped' in the beginning. 2. We drew up a list of 22 'harmful substances' we would be eliminating from our bodies by making the change. That list was placed on our refrigerator as a 'red flag' and morale booster. 3. The day after your seminar we gave away all of the food in our pantry and refrigerator that contained animal products, preservatives, sugar, salt, or other toxins. (We realize this is a radical, as well as expensive step, but we did not want bad temptations around). We ordered distilled water to be delivered to our home. We began juicing and taking BarleyMax and Fiber Cleanse. 4. We started reading "God's Way to Ultimate Health" and similar publications the day after the seminar to continue educating ourselves on how to self-manage our transition. We researched the Internet for other helpful information on maintaining good health. And if you have friends or loved ones that needs to improve their health, forward this article to them!
Hallelujah Acres' website for hundreds of hours of nutritional information from a Biblical perspective.> 5. We stayed in close contact with our Health Minister for help on recipes and for moral support in dealing with withdrawal symptoms. They even invited us to their home to share vital tips on juicing, sprouting, dehydrating, and to share spiritual guidance. Since both of us went 'cold turkey,' we experienced headaches, muscle aches, and other mild effects of detoxification. My wife's symptoms were very mild. On the other hand, my headaches lasted four weeks, and I smelled like a hazardous toxic waste dump for about a week as my body expelled toxins through my skin. 6. We never lost faith that God was on the journey with us. I remember going to church during those early days on the program when pounds were literally rolling off, and chuckling to myself because I knew how loose my pants were under my jacket! 7. We openly discussed our growing physical and spiritual strength, even as friends and family members questioned our sanity in giving up 'the good things in life.' Each time we were challenged we calmly reminded them that instant gratification from addictive foodstuffs like sugar, caffeine, alcohol, and salt is a poor substitute for long-term health and happiness. 8. Health and nutrition have become integral parts of our personal growth, as opposed to a passing fancy. We share meal planning and cooking responsibilities, and actually enjoy the challenge of eating well. 9. We have become missionaries to help people regain responsibility for their own health and happiness. We have shared written material and videos with our friends and family. We gave our family members dehydrators and dehydrated fruit for Christmas. And we provide moral support to those who know they should change, but are shackled by years of bad information and bad habits. 10. We remain grateful and humble, realizing that health is the essence of life, and life is a gift from God--a gift that should not be abused or unappreciated. “Thank you for being such a strong, selfless crusader. If there is anything we can do to help promote your ministry, please let us know.”
