Last Friday, March 1, Rhonda and I packed our car and were on the road heading north at about 9:00 a.m. We had planned on getting to Hallelujah Acres in Gastonia before 4:00 p.m. (which would have been normal drive time) but we didn’t arrive until about 5:30 because of the traffic. Fortunately the Hallelujah Store was still open and we were able to get supplies to take back to Florida with us the next day. We checked into our room at the Sheraton Airport Hotel about 6:30, had our carrot juice and BarleyMax (which we had brought with us), and Paul (my son) and his wife Ann, picked us up at 7:00 to take us to supper. After a delicious vegan supper and some wonderful family time we got back to our room about 10:00. After an exhausting day the bed sure felt good and we were sleeping very sound when at about 3:30 a.m. Rhonda’s cell phone ringing startled us. On the other end of the phone was a dear friend telling us that her 77-year-old husband was dying (they have been very close friends for a very long time). Rhonda was on the phone off and on for several hours until our friend's husband and our dear friend went home to be with the Lord at about 6:30 a.m. Though we were saddened to lose him, his passing encouraged me all the more to "speak life" at my "God's Way to Ultimate Health" seminar later that day.
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." ~ Proverbs 18:21When I got to the ballroom at about 8:30 a.m., our Hallelujah staff had already gotten the 300-seat room ready for the 10:00 a.m. seminar. People started arriving a little before 9:00 and as I always do at a seminar I am there to greet them, joined by Rhonda. It is so wonderful to meet first time visitors and old time friends. Some of the first people to arrive had driven down from West Virginia and were attending their very first seminar, as were most of the guests that day. As with all seminars, the most exciting part of the seminar came first... not with the message itself, but with testimonies from those who were on the Hallelujah Diet! They shared improvements in health they had experienced after making the diet change. One woman said that 19 years ago she had been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer and there she was in the seminar sharing that she had totally recovered her cancer because of the diet change and she was still cancer free! I spoke for several hours, had a drawing for some free books, answered questions for about an hour and we were on the road heading back to Florida at about 2:00 p.m. When we got home Rhonda said “I’m exhausted” and asked how I was after driving 8-1/2 hours the day before, having disrupted sleep, on my feet meeting people before the seminar and speaking for about 3 hours and driving another almost 8 hours home, my answer surprised her – “I feel great, I’m not even tired.” How is it possible to do all that driving, speaking, and standing, with so little sleep at age 80? My answer: “I’ve been on the Hallelujah Diet for almost 40 years, on a diet that allowed me to overcome cancer and a hemorrhagic stroke. Maybe it has something to do with what I eat?" I don’t “think” what I eat is the reason... I KNOW it is the reason!
